Hello Everyone.  It has been a busy few days for me and I hope that you all
have enjoyed this Springtime weather, or Meteorological Springtime
weather.

Tonight at 1830 / 6:30pm CST  the NWS is giving a Skywarn Storm Spotter
training class at the

Jefferson State Community College
Lurleen Wallace Hall (Room 300)
2601 Carson Rd
Birmingham, AL


​I would like to ask that if anyone from ALERT attends, please wear the
T-shirts that we had made if you have them.  I will be wearing one of mine.
This is to serve a couple of purposes. One is that it will get people to
see the #ALWX on the back of them.  Also it will get people to see ALERT
members too. If anyone else can be there a little early with me so that we
can test out an example or try to give an example I would be foreever
grateful.  If you have an HT please bring it and if not no worries as i
will have an extra one with me for this demonstration if we can iron out
the details.



I hope that everyone has been paying attention to the weather forecasts for
this week and that you are all prepared with your family and job.  I also
hope that as a ham radio operator you are prepared to help serve your
community and the agency or agencies that you serve.

I would like to ask that those members who live closer to the NWS Office
try to be available should there be a call out issued. Should you be
available, please understand that the time frame to serve this agency might
be an extended one. However that is EXACTLY what ALERT is for. To
serve/assist the NWS with radio communications both into and out of areas
that are affected by weather events of any type.

To those of you who serve more than one agency I would like to say thank
you for everything that you do for all.
