I've been using the Uniden "Home Patrol" scanner, which receives P25 
signals such as the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office without any 
problems. But they are not cheap. There may be other options out there, 
but this is the one that I know works well without a lot of fuss in 
terms of programming, etc.
