*Hey Everyone,*

*This is Bobby Best... I had lined up to do an interview with both Mark
Wells as a member of ALERT and John De Block for Amateur Radio Newsline in
honor of the December 5th SKYWARN appreciation day, this past Saturday
after the day's events... Just a little something about how important ham
radio is to NWS and the role ALERT plays with SKYWARN spotters, in the
field, at the NWS when there is a callout and such! I also thought this
would be good national promotion of both the Birmingham NWS Office and of
ALERT to, getting to talk about the ALERT group and such!*

*However, this past Sunday I came down with a BAD case of "walking"
pneumonia and my voice is GONE, not to mention the fact that I feel
terrible too... The folks at Amateur Radio Newsline have gotten Hap Holly
KC9RP from Des Plaines, IL, that's also a ARN reporter to step in and fill
in for me, with me being so sick... My problem is, I can't get in touch
with Mark Wells to let him know of the change and the deadline for doing to
story is Wednesday night!!!*

*If there is anyone else that could and would be willing to step in and
fill in for Mark on this, or if Mark sees this message (sorry, Mark I lost
your email and haven't been able to catch you on Facebook) I just need a
willing ALERT member, an officer or board member I'm sure would be
preferable, PLEASE let me know ASAP!!! Hap will be available to do the
interview (he works during the day) tomorrow evening around 7pm or
8pm... SKYPE is better, but he can also do the interview by phone as
well!!!*

*I had everything lined up and set up until I came down with pneumonia to
do either during the day today Tuesday or during the day on Wednesday
one... I really want to give Birmingham, Alabama, and ALERT some national
publicity with this; I just need a last minute willing volunteer please!!!*

*I'm also about to email John De Block at his work email address and make
him aware of the above too... I was going to do it with him during his
office hours, but since my replacement can only do it, with the deadline,
and with his regular work schedule during the day, tomorrow evening, I hope
he can at least set up for one of the meteorologist on duty tomorrow
evening to give him (Hap) a few sound bites anyway, since I doubt John will
be there tomorrow evening, during the hours Hap can do it but there will at
least be someone on staff there at The NWS tomorrow evening....*

ASAP!!!*
