Good evening everyone. I pray that you are all faring well or as well as
can be.
I want to make you all aware of a 2-way communications app for smart
phones. I has been around for a while of course but many are not aware of
it. It is called Zello. This operates just like those PTT phones, the ones
that do that chirp and such. If you have Zello go to groups and search for
K4NWS-ALERT.... If you join the group and it tells you something about
verified email accounts only, then you need to just log on to www.zello.com
and make sure that your email address is verified through them. Then it
will let you talk and such in the group. This cuts down on "riff-raff"
within the channel or group. Once you are in the channel / groiup, let us
know if it says you can only be heard by moderators so that we can list
y9ou as trusted in the channel.
If you dont know what it is, again go to www.zello.com and read the page
and see if it is something that you are interested in using. This is not
restricted to ham radio users only. This Zello group is a way for everyone
to send in information through ALERT / Zello. You can now send pictures
through Zello and that can be a very viable asset when you are in the field
and want to let people know exactly what you are talking about. (I like
this feature really well)
If you use Zello and would rather add me privately, just search contacts
for WX4RON.
