Hi everybody, I hope that everyone has survived the past few cold days.

This is a reminder of the training being given tomorrow, Saturday Jan 11
2014 at 10am.

I look forward to seeing those of you who will be coming. This is not just
for the newer members of ALERT. It can serve as a refresher for any and all
older members too.

For the older membership, the cubicle design has changed a bit out on the
floor where we normally sit. It has kind of shrunk but I think we can still
access it with no troubles. We can still fit 3 personnel at a time in there
but it is a little more"cozy" than it used to be. This is because the I T
guys have moved out onto the floor now with everyone else.

*****

I do want to remind everyone that ALERT does respond to the NWS on
call-outs for more than just severe thunderstorm events. Winter weather
events may also require call-out for ALERT. Most importantly, for those who
use computers please get involved in the NWSCHAT. ALL innformation that can
be relayed by ALERT, no matter where we are, is important to the NWS.

Thank you everyone and I look forward to seeinng you tomorrow at the NWS
Office in Calera, at the Shelby County Airport at 10am.
