Hello everyone, I just wanted to drop a line and kind of fill you all in on
the meeting last night.

**MOST IMPORTANTLY: Our local NWS office has advised us that they decided
that ALERT is an asset/resource that will be allowed to continue having
meetings because we help with getting information to the public with regard
to protecting life and property. **

The Vote for an amendment to our bylaws was unanimously passed.

A major fyi here from the NWS: Due to the Government shutdown, the NWS is
not making any outreach events until further notice. This means that they
can not participate in any community awareness days or spotter
talks/classes until the government reopens.

There were a few other things discussed that will be presented at the next
meeting, Nov 12th, when the reading of the minutes is done.

I sign with this statement : Please remember that I am just a
representative, I am a member of this team, so please feel free to bring
ideas of any sort to the club meetings or even to me individually and we
will bring them to everyone's attention for discussion. ALERT is OUR group
not mine.

Thanks.
