Hello everyone.

I apologize for taking so long to write this email and do not offer any
excuse for it.

I send out a very big THANK YOU to everyone that participated and responded
to the last call-out for the NWS Birmingham Office. ALERT had a total of 5
personnel who committed some of their weekend to benefit the 39 counties
that our NWS Office is responsible for.

Those individuals gave roughly 4 hours of their time, between 8pm Saturday
and 5:30am Sunday.  This was a great response to the call-out. Ideally
ALERT responders work 2 hour shifts and do not travel when they will
encounter severe weather enroute to or from the NWS BMX Office. The reasons
for this are for the safety of everyone involved and to not overwork those
who volunteer.

I give a BIG THANKS to those who were able to respond.
