    ALERT/NAS/NWS Booth at The Huntsville Hamfest

    HSVHamfest06.jpg - 57907 BytesMembers of ALERT, the National Weather Service and North Alabama Skywarn(NAS) jointly sponsored a booth during the August 19th Huntsville Hamfest. Featuring materials from both groups, the NWS and the EMWIN satellite system, the booth was a great success. The EMWIN system provided real-time satellite imagery, tropical warnings and other weather data. Interest was high among hams, weather enthusiasts and the general public.

    ALERT/NWS Booth at BirmingHAMfest

    In a first ever move, members of ALERT and the National Weather Service jointly sponsored a table during the May 6th BirmingHAMFest, featuring materials on both groups as well as an EMWIN satellite system. The EMWIN system provided satellite pictures, warnings and other data feeding live into the Hamfest using a satellite downlink.
